Integra Adhesives Introduces Horizon Methacrylate Adhesive for Interior and Exterior Applications
Integra Adhesives has announced the launch of Horizon™, a 10:1 two-part methacrylate adhesive intended for use in both interior and exterior surface fabrication applications. The company said the product is designed to eliminate the need for separate indoor and outdoor adhesive systems.
According to Integra Adhesives, Horizon was developed in response to feedback from fabricators managing multiple adhesive inventories as demand for outdoor living spaces continues to grow. Materials such as quartz, porcelain, sintered stone, and natural stone are increasingly used in both indoor and outdoor environments, creating challenges for product standardization.
“Fabricators told us they wanted to simplify their operations without compromising performance,” said Scott McDowell, President of IPS Adhesives. He added that Horizon uses the same color range found in the company’s existing Zero and Ultra adhesive lines.
The company reports that Horizon has undergone accelerated weathering and environmental testing. According to Integra Adhesives, QUV testing showed color change values below a ΔE of 1.50, and temperature cycling tests conducted under ASTM D1183-03 protocols indicated that the adhesive retained near-original bond strength following environmental exposure.
Integra Adhesives stated that Horizon is formulated to support common fabrication requirements, including non-sag performance for vertical applications, a working time of approximately 9–14 minutes, and temperature resilience ranging from -40°F to 158°F. The company also reports that the adhesive has achieved GREENGUARD Gold certification for low VOC emissions.
Horizon is available in 250 ml cartridges through Integra Adhesives’ distributor network across North America.
