Bostik's XL Brands Expands Flooring Adhesive Portfolio with Bio-Based PSA
XL Brands, a Bostik company, has introduced InnoStix PSA Pressure Sensitive Adhesive, a bio-based flooring adhesive formulated for carpet tile and a range of vinyl flooring materials.
The adhesive is USDA BioPreferred® Certified and contains 32% biobased content. According to the company, the solvent-free formulation is designed to provide aggressive tack and strong bond performance while supporting low-VOC indoor air quality requirements.
InnoStix PSA is formulated to allow carpet tiles to be released and re-bonded for replacement without significant loss of adhesion. The adhesive is also designed for use with luxury vinyl tile and plank, vinyl sheet flooring, vinyl composition tile, fiberglass-reinforced sheet vinyl, and both vinyl- and non-vinyl-backed modular carpet tile.
Bostik stated that the product may reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 34% compared with standard pressure-sensitive adhesives and may contribute toward LEED® v4 EQ credits on applicable projects.
The adhesive is engineered for use on concrete substrates with relative humidity levels up to 95% and pH levels up to 10.0. It also includes MicroSept® Advanced Antimicrobial Protection, which the company says helps resist bacterial and fungal growth throughout the life of the installation.
The launch expands XL Brands’ flooring adhesive portfolio with a product combining bio-based content, moisture resistance, releasability, and low-VOC performance for commercial flooring applications.
