Bostik Receives INDEX 26 Recognition for Hygiene Adhesive Innovation
Bostik has been recognized at the INDEX™ 26 Awards in Geneva for its hygiene adhesive technology, Kizen® Miles 9.0, which the company said was acknowledged for contributions to both performance and sustainability in nonwovens applications.
According to Bostik, the award comes as the nonwovens sector faces growing pressure to develop products that meet performance demands while also aligning with circular economy objectives. The company noted that one of the major challenges in this area is the recycling of disposable absorbent hygiene products, which are typically built from complex multi-layer structures.
Bostik stated that Kizen® Miles 9.0 was developed to support controlled separation of components at the end of product life. Under specific conditions involving a targeted chemical agent, controlled temperature, and mechanical stress, the company said the adhesive breaks down within minutes, allowing cleaner separation of materials and reducing cross-contamination between plastics.
The company also reported that the adhesive is designed to deliver bonding performance across substrates including PP, PE, and PLA, while maintaining stability in humid conditions and supporting high-speed manufacturing environments.
In addition, Bostik said the formulation contains up to 75% renewable materials. According to the company’s internal calculations, this contributes to a lower carbon footprint per kilogram of adhesive compared with fossil-based alternatives.
The recognition highlights continued interest in adhesive technologies that support both manufacturing performance and end-of-life material recovery within the hygiene and nonwovens markets.
