HarperLove Acquires ChromaScape’s Corrugated Products Business

HarperLove has acquired the corrugated products business of ChromaScape, formerly known as CEL Chemical, expanding its customer base and geographic reach within the corrugated packaging market.

HarperLove, a portfolio company of HBM Holdings, supplies adhesives, performance additives, and technical solutions to corrugated packaging manufacturers. According to the company, the acquisition further strengthens HBM Holdings’ packaging adhesives platform and adds established customer relationships in key regions.

The acquired business includes several specialty product lines used by corrugated box manufacturers, including LBX®, a borax and caustic replacement for starch batches; CorrMax® performance-enhancement additives; and WaterGuard® wet-strength resins.

“This acquisition is a natural fit for HarperLove and another step forward in our long-term growth strategy,” said Kenny Messer, President and CEO of HarperLove. He said the combination brings together ChromaScape’s customer relationships with HarperLove’s technical expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and service resources.

HarperLove stated that the transaction broadens its presence within the corrugated packaging industry and expands its ability to support customers across additional geographic markets.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
