Click Bond Partners with STROCO Manufacturing to Launch Automated Bonding Technology

Click Bond has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with STROCO Manufacturing, a division of The Novaria Group, making STROCO the first customer to implement Click Bond’s new Automated Bonding Technology (ABT) platform.

The partnership was announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, where Click Bond introduced ABT as part of its Stronger Together system for aerospace and defense assembly.

According to Click Bond, ABT is designed to automate surface preparation and adhesive dispensing in bonded fastening applications. The system combines Class 1 laser surface preparation with controlled adhesive dispensing to reduce process variability and operator dependence while improving consistency and production throughput.

STROCO plans to implement two systems from the ABT platform: the CBA-100 Nutplate Preparation System and the CBA-200 Desktop Bracket Preparation System. Full implementation is targeted for the end of 2026, alongside customer and end-user First Article Inspection approvals.

The CBA-100 uses automated laser ablation to prepare nutplate bonding surfaces, while the CBA-200 provides automated preparation of metallic bracket surfaces and is designed to support rapid changeover between bracket configurations.

Click Bond stated that ABT can complete surface preparation and adhesive dispensing in as little as 30 seconds and can make the bonding process up to seven times faster than manual preparation methods.

“At STROCO, we’re always looking for ways to raise the bar on quality and take variability out of the equation for our customers,” said Chris Williamson, Vice President and General Manager of STROCO Manufacturing. He said the technology introduces greater precision, speed, and repeatability into the surface-preparation process.

Rob Trembicki, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Click Bond, said the partnership represents an important step in expanding automation within aerospace assembly.
