IPS Adhesives Joins Matrix Adhesives Group
IPS Adhesives has been acquired by Matrix Adhesives Group, beginning a new phase of development for the manufacturer of high-performance adhesive technologies serving building and construction, transportation, industrial, marine, architectural surfacing, and other specialty markets.
According to the companies, IPS Adhesives will add its product technologies, brands, international operations, and technical capabilities to the Matrix platform. The transaction includes IPS brands such as Integra Adhesives and Unika® for architectural surfacing applications, as well as the SCIGRIP Adhesives® structural product line.
IPS Adhesives also brings expertise in methyl methacrylate adhesive technology and color-matching capabilities. The company’s products are used in applications including countertop fabrication, building and construction, industrial assembly, marine manufacturing, and sign and display production.
“Joining Matrix represents an exciting milestone for the IPS Adhesives team,” said Scott McDowell, President of IPS Adhesives. He said the combination will allow IPS to maintain its position in MMA adhesive technologies while gaining additional resources and a broader global platform to support future growth.
The transaction also expands the international presence of the combined organization through IPS Adhesives’ existing European operations, distributor network, and customer relationships.
DJ Johnson, CEO of Matrix Adhesives Group, said the acquisition is intended to expand Matrix’s ability to provide differentiated adhesive solutions across its core markets in North America and internationally.
