3M Launches AI-Powered Product Selection Tool for Adhesives and Tapes

3M has introduced Ask 3M, a digital assistant designed to help customers identify, compare, and evaluate product solutions more efficiently.

According to 3M, the tool is initially focused on industrial adhesives and tapes and provides self-service access to the company’s technical knowledge. Users can ask questions in natural language about topics such as adhesive selection for specific substrate combinations, product comparisons, and use of particular adhesive systems.

The company stated that Ask 3M relies on verified internal product documentation and application knowledge rather than information drawn from the open internet. 3M said the platform is intended to help users access technical guidance more quickly while supporting product selection and troubleshooting.

In addition to answering product-related questions, the platform links users to authorized distributors and provides access to supporting technical documents, according to the company.

The launch reflects continued interest across the adhesives sector in digital tools that can streamline product evaluation, technical support, and customer access to application expertise.
