Sika Plans Acquisition of Finja to Expand Nordic Mortar Business
Sika has announced plans to acquire Finja, a Swedish manufacturer of mortars and related construction systems, in a transaction expected to close in the first quarter of 2026 pending regulatory approvals.
According to Sika, the acquisition is intended to strengthen its presence in the Nordic region by adding Finja’s product portfolio and distribution reach to its existing operations. The company stated that the transaction is expected to expand capacity and provide additional cross-selling opportunities across complementary product lines.
Founded in 1957, Finja is a family-owned company with annual net sales of approximately CHF 60 million. The company produces dry mortars, floor leveling compounds, and facade systems and operates two manufacturing facilities in Sweden located near major economic centers. Sika noted that both sites offer potential for future capacity expansion.
Finja serves a broad customer base that includes distributors, contractors, installers, architects, and designers, with a significant portion of sales conducted through trade and retail distribution channels.
Sika stated that the acquisition of Finja, together with its earlier acquisition of Marlon in Denmark, will support broader coverage of the mortar segment across the Nordic markets and enhance its regional production and distribution capabilities.
“The acquisition of Finja will provide us with opportunities to increase our presence in the Nordic construction markets,” said Christoph Ganz, Regional Manager EMEA at Sika. He added that Sika intends to leverage Finja’s product range, distribution network, and digital tools to support future growth.
The transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.
