Newson Gale has released a new edition of its Grounding & Bonding Applications Handbook, a technical resource focused on static electricity control in hazardous area operations.

According to the company, the handbook provides an overview of grounding and bonding practices used to reduce static electricity hazards in industrial environments where explosive atmospheres may be present. The publication also includes application guidance and information related to compliance with standards and legislation governing hazardous area operations.

Newson Gale stated that the handbook is intended to support operators working in environments subject to requirements such as the ATEX Worker Protection Directive (99/92/EC), the ATEX Equipment Directive (2014/34/EU), and the IEC 60079 series of standards. The company noted that these frameworks are relevant to equipment and protective systems used in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The publication also includes information on hazardous area certification for the company’s safety systems across multiple regions, including the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, China, India, the Republic of Korea, Brazil, and international IECEx markets.

According to Newson Gale, the handbook further outlines the company’s quality and certification commitments under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 80079-34:2018.
