It is with great sadness from everyone here at Evans Adhesive Corporation that I inform you of the passing of Gene Simmons.  Gene passed away on Saturday, March 25th after suffering a series of strokes in mid-March.  Gene would have turned 64 in May.

Gene was an Adhesive Industry Icon having worked with glue, specifically Pressure Sensitive Hot Melt Adhesives, for over 40 years.  Gene started his career with H B Fuller where he learned and developed his PSA formulating skills.  He joined Evans in 2007 and helped upgrade our company’s PSA hot melt product line, while teaching and coaching his knowledge to others.  Our customers loved Gene, especially his experience, enthusiasm, and his passion for helping our customers’ applications be successful.

Gene was well-known in the adhesive industry by dozens who worked with him over the years.   Raw material suppliers, application equipment manufacturers, and customers, knew that Gene would provide straight-forward, honest answers and feedback to any questions asked of him.  Gene had a reputation of sincere patience, hard work, and a diligence to deliver what any salesperson or customer needed to have, in order to create a path to success.  His passion for his job and his co-workers created a successful working environment.  We will all miss his incredible sense of humor, his sincerity, and his willingness and desire to help others.

Gene was married to his wife Irene for more than 40 years.  The two of them were meant for each other.  Gene loved his son and daughter, his three grandchildren, and his many friends and co-workers.  He had a great love of both music and sports – when not thinking about glue!
