Adhesives, Industry News,

The Flashing and Seaming Portfolio from Avery Dennison has expanded their PSA performance tapes with the launch of a new line for a wide range of building envelope materials. The company reports that the high-performance, peel-and-stick materials are engineered to keep water and air out to prevent damage while enhancing building comfort and energy efficiency.

The portfolio includes multiple tape constructions and adhesive technologies for use in many applications when building envelope flashing and seaming are required. These include windows and doors, wall systems, roofing solutions, as well as foundation and concrete insulation. In addition, the portfolio contains products for barrier and membrane use.

“Our tapes work in conjunction with traditional flashing materials to fill gaps or seams, repair damaged or deteriorated areas, or provide a temporary seal before a permanent solution is installed to prevent the infiltration and leakage of air and water,” said Maria Pitorak, senior product manager – Building & Construction Performance Tapes, North America. “They offer easy peel-and-stick applications to speed up construction while ensuring durability even in extreme environments.”

The featured product in the portfolio is FT 0088, a single-coated waterproof flashing tape that is conformable, self-sealing and puncture resistant. The tape, which meets AAMA 711-13 requirements and adheres to a wide variety of building materials and sealants. The tape features an extremely aggressive adhesive that bonds well to damp surfaces and will not melt or stain at high temperatures. FT 0088 resists UV exposure for six months and offers low vapor transmission rates.
