Paraffin wax is the major raw material for the production of candles but also has many other applications in industries such as rubber & tires, chipboard, food-processing and packaging, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, synthetics, inks paints & coatings and hot melt adhesives. A typical hot melt adhesive contains 10-30% wax. This ingredient in the adhesive formulation controls the open and set times of the hot melt adhesive, as well as enhancing the flexibility and elongation properties.
