Scholarship Program
The ASC Scholarship Program began in 2017 by the late Rusty Thompson, former President of Evans Adhesive, beloved member of the ASC Board of Directors, and a friend and mentor to many in the adhesive industry. In 2024 the program was renamed in Rusty's honor.
To be considered for scholarship funds through the ASC Scholarship Program, candidates must:
- Be a full-time freshman, sophomore, or junior at an accredited college, university, or community college.
- Be pursuing a degree in a science-related or business field of study.
The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications to determine the best overall applicants.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a recipient's relevant academic field of study, future career objective, and academic and/or leadership achievements.
The highest-rated students are selected as scholarship recipients.
Opportunities for a summer internship at a participating ASC member company are offered to recipients where available!
Scholarships will be awarded annually to 5-6 applicants, depending on the availability of funding, in an amount ranging between $500-$2,000 each, depending on the volume of selections.
ASC's Scholarship Program is primarily funded by the ASC. Donations to support the fund are welcome and encouraged. To make a donation to the ASC Scholarship Program, please complete the online DONATIONS FORM or make a check payable to "ASC Scholarship Program" and send to: The Adhesive & Sealant Council (ASC), 510 King Street, Suite 418, Alexandria, VA 22314. Because ASC is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, donations are not tax deductible. To donate, click here.
