Description

Creating high performance packaging hot-melt adhesives (HMA) starts with using low viscosity ethylene olefin copolymer plastomers in the formulation. These polyolefin plastomers (POP) provide several benefits to hot-melt adhesive users including stable melt viscosity, no odor, no char, and no stringing. Combine those advantages with a potential for lower total cost of ownership compared to traditional ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) polymers and you have a real differentiator.

Ryan Schneider – Dow

Ryan has more than 25 years of experience in the development and formulation of adhesives across multiple industries and applications. He has been with Dow since 1993 and is currently the North American polyolefin elastomer based hot-melt adhesives technology leader and global product technology leader. Prior to his current role, Ryan worked in R&D in a variety of specialties within the electronics industry, including interlayer dielectrics; vacuum-insulating silica materials; and silicon based lithium-ion batteries. As an application specialist, Ryan worked on developing functional surfaces using spray-on and physical-vapor-deposited coatings, electronic adhesives, silicone PSAs and hot-melt adhesives, and protection materials
