Please join us for an Advanced Technology Series webinar from the Society of Rheology. This webinar will serve to familiarize the Adhesive industry to the opportunities and value of attending the Annual Meeting of the Society of Rheology (SOR) in Houston, Texas in mid October.

Our panel of experts will offer a brief overview of the basic concepts that govern the characterization of soft matter and complex fluids. An overview of general rheological concepts and techniques will be provided, followed by examples of two areas of measurement relevant to adhesives and sealants: yield stress measurement and extensional rheological measuremnts. These examples will teach simple techniques that allow measurment of yield stress and extensional viscoelasticity. Then these measurements can be used to generate a design space for material selection and design of extensible yield-stress fluids and introduce a model material with this important behavior.

After a brief introduction to the SOR platform by Gareth McKinley, this 60 minute webinar will showcase work from three renowned academic speakers in the field of rheology.

  • Dr. Gareth McKinley will offer a brief overview of the basic concepts that govern the characterization of soft matter and complex fluids
  • Dr. Randy Ewoldt will present his work on Rheological Unicorns: Mapping and Designing Extensible Yield-Stress Fluid
  • Dr. Vivek Sharma will close the seminar with the explanation of Drop Deformation and Deposition Rheology
