New Adhesives for 2016 from Hernon and Palm Labs

Posted By ASC, Tuesday, January 12, 2016

Hernon Manufacturing Inc. is launching a two-component methacrylate adhesive under the brand name Fusionbond370. It is able to bond thermoplastics, metal, wood and composites and will be used for marine, automotive and construction applications. Apart from being able to bond dissimilar substrates, the adhesive is fatigue and impact-resistant and is able to tolerate exposure to salt spray while maintaining the integrity of bonds at temperatures ranging from -100 F to 250 F. Shear strength varies from 620 psi to 3,000 psi depending on substrate.

Palm Labs Adhesives is expanding its range of fluorescent Cyanoacrylate adhesives with Turbo Fuse 130 FY, an adhesive with a curing time of 24 hours at room temperature. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the adhesive glows yellow, allowing for easy inspection of bonds. It is able to bond plastics, metals, elastomers and wood with a shear strength of 3,000 psi at temperatures of -65F to 180F.
