Kraton Performance Polymers Purchases Arizona Chemical Holdings Corp

Posted By ASC, Monday, October 5, 2015
Houston-based Kraton Performance Polymers, producers of rubber-based sealants and coatings as well as medical and personal care products, has announced its planned acquisition of Arizona Chemical Holdings Corp for $1.37 billion.  The pine-based chemicals produced by Arizona Chemical Holdings are used in the production of adhesives and inks used in packaging, cleaning agents, coatings, lubricants and road construction materials to name but a few. Executives predict increased profits for shareholders estimated at $1.40 per share by the end of the first year as a result of the acquisition. Kraton released projections indicating an expected $65 million in pre-tax synergies and a cash-flow improvement of over $450 million by 2018.  The necessary financing will be obtained from Credit Suisse Securities, Nomura Securities and Deutsche Bank and the transfer of ownership is expected to take place late in 2015 or in early 2016.
