Chemical Abstract Service offers access to some of its scientific and technical databases through the Internet. Users must have an STN account and password. Searching is through a simplified interface with no training necessary. Search charges are based upon a flat fee structure, with free display of article titles. While not necessarily an inexpensive way to search, nevertheless, it offers access for the occasional and untrained searcher.
