Learn about caulks and sealants, their properties and functions at the 2010 Caulks & Sealants Short Course, co-located with ASC’s 2010 Spring Convention & EXPO in Savannah.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Caulks and sealants serve many functions, primarily in the area of building construction. Falling between higher-strength adhesives and extremely low-strength putties and caulks, sealants primarily secure assemblies and joints by filling a gap between substrates and forming a barrier. Sealants offer important performance properties, providing many advantages to modern design. Putties and caulks serve another function—to take up space and fill voids. Taught by industry experts, ASC’s two-day, technical short course will help you gain a better understanding of the functions and applications of caulks and sealants.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The course is designed for individuals employed by manufacturer, supplier or end-user companies and design-engineering professionals.  A basic chemistry background is assumed; however, no advanced knowledge is required. Specifically, this course is ideal for:

  • Chemists and other technical personnel
  • Application engineers
  • Architects
  • Specifiers
  • Project managers
  • Job captains
  • Sales and marketing professionals employed by sealant formulators and raw material suppliers
