Background:

Silane terminated polyurethane (STP), with its backbone based on the very versatile polyurethane technology and its reactivity firmly rooted in silicone technology, is a true hybrid. This hybrid technology is also one of the most confused in the adhesive and sealant world, mostly because it has so many different names like STP, STPU, SMP and STPE, but also due to the complexity of the components. STP's can be found in many areas of the adhesive and sealant marketplace including transportation, assembly and building and construction. From strong adhesives to low modulus construction sealants, this technology covers a broad range of physical properties and has beneficial attributes.

Session Description:

This webinar will cover the basics of silylated technology. The presenters will explore the basics of the current applications and their markets, taking time to compare this emerging technology with others and to define the key aspects in an effort to reduce confusion. Several starting point formulations for various applications will be reviewed and along with the critical components and their functions.
