Henkel Releases New Structural Bonders to Address Maintenance Industry Costs

Posted By ASC, Thursday, August 3, 2017

Henkel has introduced new structural bonders that the company reports combine the benefits of epoxy adhesives with those of instant adhesives and structural adhesives. They are designed for general-purpose repairs, and as such, they are able to form strong bonds across a wide range of substrates including plastics and can tolerate demanding operational conditions.

Loctite HY 4070 adhesive allows for rapid bonding and maintains bonds when subjected to a wide range of temperatures, according to Henkel, as well as offering chemical resistance and resistance to humid conditions. It performs well when used to bond metals, rubber, and most plastics. It has been released along with Loctite HY 4060 GY, a general-purpose adhesive that cures in just five minutes. Like its relative in the Loctite range, it is able to form high-performance bonds across a wide range of substrates.
