Adhesive Backed Floor Mats Improve Safety in High Traffic Retail Areas Subject to Spills

Posted By ASC, Wednesday, July 26, 2017

Mats can easily slip and slide, and in areas where spills are likely, moisture can pool and be tracked to other areas. Traditionally, the solution has been to provide absorbent mats with a rubber backing, but these mats tend to curl at the corners, may become bunched up, and can still move about. The solution from New Pig, a company that specializes in leak and spill protection equipment, is called Grippy Mat, and it overcomes these problems by using an adhesive instead of a rubber backing.

The matting is designed to protect floors from moisture. It can remain in place while being buffed or mopped and has NFSI certification as a high-traction, rip, shred, and fray-resistant floor covering. The P53 adhesive used as a backing keeps the matting firmly in place while the upper layers eliminate pooling of liquids when spills occur. Business owners can leave these mats in place for twelve weeks at a stretch, saving maintenance and matting hire costs.
