Industrial heating technology specialist Glenro has announced its introduction of a new heating element system for lamination equipment that is specifically designed for the lamination of non-rigid products and will provide uniform heating across surfaces. Temperature control modules and special software are used to gain precise temperature control. The company reports that this allows operators to maintain the viscosity of laminating adhesive resins, preventing issues such as run-through of the adhesive through the substrate.
The Silcurv® heating elements are configured in a face up, face down pattern to create a sine wave pattern that ensures equal heat from both the top and bottom during lamination. Time, temperature, pressure and cooling are all important elements in the laminating process, and the Silcurv® system makes precise control of these variables possible. A different heating system trademarked under the name Conductaplane™ has been designed for laminating rigid materials.
