Preventing blowouts and punctures not only extends tire life, it could also prevent road accidents and fatalities. Large transport companies in Europe are now following an American success story by turning to a sealant that mends all but the worst punctures as they happen. American transport firms have long recognized the benefits of tire sealant systems. Since slow leaks are eliminated, air pressure is maintained reducing fuel consumption and reducing the amount of wear on tires.
In an EU pilot project, an important transport firm found that using tires containing the US-made sealant reduced tire issues by 75%. There were 7% less blowouts, and 8% less stoppages as a result of punctures over a nine-month period. The transport firm reported that as result, it is saving millions of dollars, based on the cost of the average tire related breakdown.
Following the publication of these results, other EU transport giants are eyeing Ultra-Seal as a potential cost-saver and safety feature.
