Bostik, a subsidiary of Arkema, has been following a strategy of expansion in high growth regions, and its latest addition is a Philippines-based plant for the production of cementitious powder derived from its Polymer Modified Binder technology. This will enable the manufacture of construction products such as tile adhesives and wall finishing products in Southeast Asia, serving the growing market in the Mindanao and Visayas regions.
Bostik is not a new presence in the Philippines, where it has been active since 2005. The new plant is the latest in a series of recent plant openings in the US, India, Brazil, Mexico and Malaysia. Bostik currently has a presence in 50 countries around the world and employs 4,800 people. Its parent company, Arkema is even larger, with Bostik contributing €1.5 billion of its €7.7 billion sales in 2015.
