Dow Chemical Company has announced the launch of a new packaging sealant that will allow packaging designs to have larger ‘windows’ thanks to compatibility with coextruded films and laminates and a decreased seal initiation temperature.
The new sealant has higher bubble stability and a stable Coefficient of Friction, which will improve output in packaging production lines. It has been developed with easy processability and options for packaging with high ‘shelf appeal’ in mind and is compatible with blown and cast extrusions. The new product will improve the production efficiency of complex multi-film layer extruders and other forms of pressure limited packaging equipment.
Dow says that its new sealant has sufficient versatility to be used in a range of packaging applications such as hygiene packs, frozen foods, dry foods and household films. Dow Performance Packaging, a franchise specializing in rigid and flexible plastic packaging will be working with brands on applications for the new sealant.
