Bostik, an Arkema Subsidiary, Opens New HMPSA Plant in Mexico

A new plant for the production of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA) was recently opened in Monterrey Mexico by Bostik, a subsidiary of Arkema. The adhesives are intended for use in the production of disposable hygiene products such as disposable diapers, adult incontinence products and feminine hygiene products, and the new plant will meet growing demand for HMPSA in Central and South America.


The state-of-the-art plant was designed utilizing international expertise in order to ensure top quality, efficiency and the application of the latest safety features. The new plant also features a fully automated packaging operation. A company spokesperson said that the new facility would promote efficiency and bring about significant cost-savings for the company.


The opening of Mexico’s new adhesives plant is the latest development in Bostik’s international expansion strategy that has included the inauguration of plants in China, Malaysia, India, Brazil and the US.
