, a member of the Arkema group, has opened their Smart House at the Bostik Smart Technology Center near Paris for viewing by customers and their partners. The Smart House aims to showcase new construction methods which Bostik foresees as being representative of the future of sustainable construction. The themes it represents are environmental soundness, energy efficiency and comfortable, healthy living.
The futuristic house will provide an environment for experimental testing of its performance under real life conditions, and a neighboring showroom showcases Bostik’s latest innovations in the field of sustainable construction. Bostik aims to obtain international sustainable construction certifications from LEED, BREEAM, Passivhaus and Bepos. Should all four certifications be confirmed, the Smart House will be the first building to receive this range of certifications.
The show house has been designed to be an environmentally sound dwelling throughout its life cycle, and researchers will use it as a laboratory for further Research and Development initiatives.
