ExxonMobil Chemical Introduces New Vistamaxx™ Performance Polymers Platform for Hot Melt Adhesives

Posted By ASC, Wednesday, August 5, 2015

ExxonMobil Chemical has introduced Vistamaxx™ performance polymers for high-performance, cost-effective, hot melt adhesives. The new Vistamaxx platform includes low viscosity polymers that will serve the packaging, hygiene and assembly markets. Using proprietary metallocene technology, Vistamaxx polymers are enabling the development of virtually odorless, trouble-free and user-friendly hot melt adhesives. Advantages include thermal stability and a broad service temperature range, adhesion at extreme temperatures and the ability to customize tack based on the desired substrate. The first grade introduced was Vistamaxx 8880, which is a low-odor and low-color polymer for use in packaging, case and carton sealing and assembly. Gertrud Masure— Vistamaxx hygiene and adhesives segment manager—ExxonMobil Chemical, noted: “Providing functionality which doesn’t compromise adhesive performance, these polymers can replace conventional ingredients in adhesives such as those based on ethylene vinyl acetate or metallocene polyethylene.”
