Silicone Solutions launched a flexible grout called SS-777. It can compensate for expansion joints, vibration, and moving surfaces, while tolerating humidity and variable temperatures. Dow Corning released a thermally conductive gel for use in demanding flip chip applications, while Wacker Chemie A.G. debuted a high-tack silicone for medical applications. The Wacker adhesive is named Silpuran 2117 and is intended for advanced wound care. It is a high purity silicone that allows dressings to remain flexible and soft with non-traumatic dressing changes. Silpuran 2117 also has enhanced tack in contact with skin to ensure dressings are secure, while providing a breathable but water-tight barrier. By creating a seal around the wound, Silpuran 2117 also prevents infection. Its purity makes it ideal for hypoallergenic skin, and ease of removal means there is no damage or pain when dressing need to be changed.
