Avery Dennison, a leader in labeling and packaging materials, has invested €7 million to expand their plant in Gotha, Central Germany. The Gotha site will have enhanced coating and labeling capabilities for self-adhesive labels and packaging films. This expansion is a direct response to expanding demands for exceptionally clean and clear filmic materials. The investment will produce a 1/3 increase in production space, with topcoating capacity increased by 50 million m2. This production growth will meet expected short-term growth with the ability to support long-term growth. The expansion will include both new machinery and converting existing plant machinery for integrated inline silicone coating and laminating. Materials Group Europe vice president and general manager Angelo Depietri, said, “We are now able to optimize our wider European film coating operations, creating a significant increase of overall laminating capacity in Europe.”
