Message from the President – February 2012
|
ASC is focusing time and resources on developing a new program—the ASC Training Academy.
The ASC Training Academy will deliver “basics of” training to member company employees and will deliver “benefits of” training to the end user community.
For our members, the ASC Training Academy will serve as a strong opportunity to ensure that company employees have a solid understanding of the principles of adhesion, sealing, additives, rheology, and EHS issues.
For end users, the ASC Training Academy will provide: a clear understanding of how adhesives and sealants work by market segment; the different types of products available; and the value proposition member company products deliver.
We envision these training efforts to be delivered via affordable webinars, accessed through adhesives.org.
This is a major endeavor, designed to fully support the part of ASC’s vision that states the Council will be the “essential center of knowledge” for adhesives and sealants professionals.
We need your help in spreading the word about this program.
The Council recently issued a Request for Proposals and would like you to share the ASC Training Academy RFP with consultants, research professionals, academic experts, and experienced trainers, urging them to work with ASC to deliver a world-class training experience for the industry. Click here to view the full RFP.
Since 1958, ASC has helped educate and train industry professionals. Our conventions deliver strong programming on emerging trends. Our short courses remain solid, chemistry based training programs. The ASC Training Academy will continue the legacy we all built together over the past 50+ years, but it will also give us a new opportunity to explain the virtues of our products to new audiences, in an innovative manner.
Every year, ASC touches more than 500 people with its training programs. With the ASC Training Academy, we have an opportunity to expand upon that number, ensuring that 1000s of design engineers understand adhesive and sealant products, can apply them to their complex operations, and think adhesives and sealants FIRST when it comes to solutions.
We will continue to discuss this program in the coming months, and you will see more information on the effort at ASC’s Spring Convention held April 15-17 in conjunction with the Waterborne Short Course in Denver, CO. Register today for the $100 discount which ends this Friday, February 24th.
