The late 1950s and early 1960s were turbulent times. Social change was sweeping the country, as the Vietnam War raged, the Beatles rose to stardom and a generation’s music was celebrated at Woodstock. In many ways it is ironic that it was during this era of instability that the adhesive and sealant industry would unite. Originally dubbed the Rubber and Plastic Adhesive and Sealant Manufacturers Council, the forebearer to ASC would begin to grow and unite our industry.
